Registered Manager - Nava S. Navaratnarajah BSc (Hons)

Nava S. Navaratnarajah (Registered Manager). Qualifications and experience include BSc (Hons), NVQ IV in Health and Social Care Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Human Services. He has over 25 years experience in care management and established Ashcroft House in 1995.  He has been the Registered Manager of Ashcroft House since 2005. He has undertaken specialist training including substance misuse, relapse prevention, communication, motivation and child safeguarding.

KEY WORKERS

Minimum qualification - educated to degree level in a relevant sector and have at least two years experience in the field of substance misuse.

Paula House BA (Hons) in Youth & Community Education

Paula House Over three years experience in the substance misuse field and over seven years experience in youth and community sector.  Undetaken training in alcohol awareness, child protection, infection control and the protection of vulnerable adults. Volunteer experience in youth and community organisations.

 Gemma Nelson BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice & Policing

Seven years experience in the criminal justice sector with five years serving as a prison officer in HM Prison Service, gaining extensive experience in the substance misuse field and specialising in working with vulnerable individuals such as those at risk of self harm/suicide. Voluntary work undertaken in youth justice boards.

 

Nursery Nurse - CACHE Diploma (Level 3), BTEC National Diploma in Childcare, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications.

Team of Support Workers who provide 24 hour cover.  These staff have a range of skills and qualifications, including health and social care, community justice, counselling, housing, mental health, education and traiing, food hygiene, first aid, substance misuse, parenting, childcare, learning,development and nurturing, learning difficulties and safeguarding.  Support Workers are responsible for supervising activities outside programme time, providing support and upholding the rules of the house.

At team meetings, all staff give feedback on the progress of individual mothers and their children, discuss any areas of concern and plan for the following week.  Weekly management meetings with the Registered Manager review the overall work of Ashcroft House.

 £6.50-£7.50+ per hour to suit ability and experience 

 1  05/02/12  30/02/12 Must be qualified to NNEB/CACHE 3 with minimum 5 years experience with 2 years at a senior level.

VETTING & BARRING SCHEME

 All staff employments are subject to satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and, from July 2010, registration with the Independent Safeguarding Authority.  CRB checks and ISA registration must be completed and satisfactory refernces obtained before employment can commence. 

MANDATORY TRAINING

All staff are expected to hold or to register for appropriate NVQ/QCF Awards in Social Care/Child Care or any other relevant training and staff development courses as required.
